HOW TO GET TO BENG BENGS
We know we’re on the other side of the world but don’t be despondent because it may just be a little easier to get here than expected!
All you have to do is get your ticket to Padang(PDG),West Sumatra, reachable from Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur and book into your favourite hotel for a night or two. If you can’t be bothered with the admin, don’t sweat it! Swing us a message and we’ll book you a room in the guest house we use as “headquarters” in Padang. From there, you hop on the Mentawai fast ferry on either Tuesday or Saturday morning. The ferry arrives in Siberut several hours later, after which, you’re only a short speedboat ride away from arriving on our doorstep. Give us your flight details and we’ll arrange all the logistics, from airport shuttles to ferry tickets, we’ll
have you covered the moment you leave the airport terminal.
SURFING IN PARADISE
Granted you’re a surfer who hasn’t been living under a rock all their lives, we’re guessing you’ve heard a little about the Ments. It’s the kind of place that sells itself. A quick Youtube search will reveal our token waves in all their glory. Hundred metre barreling rides on offer for all. What this might not reveal, are the numerous mellower waves that cater for all levels of surfing. We’ve got it all! From the slabbier waves like Eret, to the freight train barrels of Kandui and Rifles to long-running mellow options such as Goodtimes and Beng Beng, you’re sure to get your fix! We’re even more excited by the idea of surfing these waves with a handful of good friends, something that we often get to experience.
